William Agliata Baritone

My musical journey began in my hometown of Rome, where I studied classical guitar, joined the children’s choir of the Accademia Filarmonica Romana under the direction of Mons. Pablo Colino, and trained extensively in music theory and ear training. Twenty years later, I expanded my artistic horizons, drawing inspiration from operetta and opera while also engaging in commercial projects with Italian national TV, including RAI and Channel 5.

I made my classical singing debut in 1992, performing Pristschitsch and Danilo Danilovitsch in The Merry Widow at the Rome Summer Festival. Since then, I have built a multifaceted career spanning more than 30 years, performing on prestigious stages worldwide, including Rome Opera, New York City Opera, Teatro Olimpico, Teatro Brancaccio, and Regina Opera in NYC.

As a passionate educator and arts advocate, I draw upon my experience to guide singers through private instruction, masterclasses, institutional leadership, and residencies at top-tier vocal programs. My teaching is rooted in the bel canto and traditional Italian vocal methods, shaped by my long association with Francesco and Liliana Recchia, who advanced the Melocchi and Piervenanzi schools to new levels.

While my primary focus is classical repertoire, I also cross-train singers in pop, rock, R&B, jazz, and other genres. My performance repertoire includes major roles such as Marcello, Colline, and Schaunard in La Bohème, Masetto in Don Giovanni, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, Dottor Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Barone Duphol and Dottor Grenvil in La Traviata, and operetta roles including La Gaffe (Il Paese dei Campanelli) and Petit Gris (Cin Ci Là).

Together with my wife, mezzo-soprano Caterina Rossini, I co-founded Mostly Classical Performing Arts, LLC, an agency representing and promoting classical musicians. MCPA serves as a vital bridge between artists and concert halls, opera houses, and performance venues worldwide. Leveraging our extensive networks of conductors, artistic directors, and festival organizers, we secure prestigious engagements while ensuring each artist is presented with the highest standard of professionalism and artistry.
